Action returns to The Dirt Track at Charlotte with the Circle K NOS Energy Outlaw Showdown, Friday, May 25. Festivities begin with a free autograph session prior to the stars taking to the four-tenths-mile clay oval for the 30-lap showdown. Kasey Kahne Planning to Race in Outlaw Showdown

Kasey Kahne Racing has announced team owner and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Kasey Kahne is planning to race Friday in the Circle K NOS Energy Outlaw Showdown at The Dirt Track at Charlotte. The team will be fielding a total of four cars for the event. Drivers are set to be Kahne, full-timers Joey Saldana and Cody Darrah, and part-timer and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Brad Sweet.

Races to be Televised on SPEED

This year's Circle K NOS Energy Outlaw Showdown will be televised live on SPEED, starting at 8 ET. As part of SPEED's “Racing's Greatest Weekend” broadcast schedule, the Outlaw Showdown will have Ralph Sheheen and Brad Doty calling the action in the booth above the clay oval and Bobby Gerould and Matt Yocum in the pits.

Free Autograph Session

Before the Circle K NOS Energy Outlaw Showdown A-Main, meet the stars of the show with a free autograph session on The Dirt Track’s main concourse. From 4:30 to 5:15 p.m., fans can meet drivers including Kasey Kahne Racing's Cody Darrah and Joey Saldana. The first 1,000 fans to present a NOS Energy Drink from Circle K at the entrance to the autograph party will receive a free limited-edition commemorative poster.

Cell Phones for Soldiers

The World of Outlaws and Cell Phones for Soldiers will kick off their efforts with their “Outlaws Give Back” cell phone drive Friday, May 25, at the Circle K NOS Energy Outlaw Showdown at The Dirt Track at Charlotte. Any fan who donates a gently used cell phone and has a paid ticket will receive a free pit pass. The cell phones will be collected throughout the summer at World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series events across the country at the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series souvenir trailer or at the World Racing Group office in Concord, N.C. Postage paid donation bags will also be available at both locations for anyone wishing to make a donation after they return home. For every donated phone valued at just $5, Cell Phones for Soldiers is able to provide two-and-a-half hours of free talk time to deployed troops. NDRA Late Models to Run Prior to Outlaw Showdown

Friday night, the late models of the NDRA series will take to the track for a 25-lap feature prior to the Circle K NOS Energy Outlaw Showdown. The event is $2,000 to win. Dennis Franklin currently leads the National Dirt Racing Association (NDRA) points as the circuit heads to The Dirt Track at Charlotte.
