Saturday and Sunday Nearing Sellout for NHRA Nationals at zMAX Dragway
Fans who wish to get a seat for this weekend's inaugural NHRA Nationals at zMAX Dragway @ Concord need to get their tickets now as just a few thousand tickets remain for Saturday and Sunday.
"This is the hottest ticket in drag racing," said Marcus Smith, president and general manager of Charlotte Motor Speedway. "I know many drag racing fans like to walk up and buy grandstand tickets the day of the race, but that approach will be a big gamble this weekend. Less than 1,000 tickets are left for Saturday and not many more for Sunday. Both days will be sold out and fans need to move fast to secure their seats."
The good news for fans who wish to attend the kickoff for the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series Countdown to One is that tickets can still be purchased in advance for the four-day event at www.charlottemotorspeedway.com or by calling the Charlotte Motor Speedway ticket office at 1-800-455-FANS. A limited number of standing-room-only tickets will be sold on site at zMAX Dragway Saturday and Sunday.
Action begins Thursday with Sportsman and Competition Eliminator divisions holding their first rounds of qualifying, beginning at 8 a.m.
Gates open at 7:30 a.m. Single-day general admission tickets for Thursday are $10 and kids 12 years old and under are admitted for free when accompanied by an adult.
The NHRA Pro divisions-Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, and Pro Stock Motorcycle-begin their weekend action with two qualifying sessions on Friday beginning at 2:30 p.m. Top Alcohol, Sportsman and Competition Eliminator will each run two qualifying sessions as well on Friday. Gates open at 7:30 a.m. Single-day reserved tickets for Friday start at $25.
Saturday includes two more Pro qualifying sessions as well as eliminations for Top Alcohol, Sportsman and Competition Eliminator. Gates open at 7:30 a.m. and a very limited number of single-day reserved tickets are available for $42. Standing-room-only tickets will be available at the gates.
Sunday is elimination day, as the top 16 cars in each NHRA Pro division compete in a bracket-style tournament until the last competitor standing is crowned the winner. Gates open at 9:30 a.m. Single-day reserved tickets for Sunday are still available and start at $42.
Each event ticket is also a pit pass, which allows fans access to the largest professional and sportsman pit areas on the NHRA circuit.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.charlottemotorspeedway.com or by calling the Charlotte Motor Speedway ticket office at 1-800-455-FANS.
