Speedway Children's Charities and B.R.A.K.E.S. Host Second Annual Benefit Dinner Sept. 17
Speedway Children's Charities and B.R.A.K.E.S are joining forces once again for their Second Annual Benefit Dinner on Thursday, Sept. 17. The event, presented by tiwiTM, will be held in The Speedway Club at Charlotte Motor Speedway with a cocktail reception beginning at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m. and guest speaker Todd Follmer, chief executive officer of tiwiTM.
"The tiwi teen driver mentoring system and B.R.A.K.E.S. are a perfect fit because the goal for both is to reduce injuries and fatalities that result from automobile accidents among inexperienced teen drivers," said Follmer. "We are proud to be the presenting sponsor for this dinner in support of B.R.A.K.E.S. and Speedway Children's Charities."
Representatives from tiwiTM will be on hand to demonstrate the use of their state-of-the-art product and give media tours with drag racer Doug Herbert, founder of the safe driving organization B.R.A.K.E.S, on Friday, Sept. 18. Prior to the Final Eliminations on Sunday, pre-race ceremonies will include a check presentation from tiwiTM given by Follmer and Vice President Melissa Rosato.
"To have tiwiTM involved with Speedway Children's Charities and B.R.A.K.E.S for the upcoming NHRA events is especially thrilling to me. Tiwi's in-car unit is a product that I, as a parent, would certainly invest in for my child's vehicle," said Saundy Hutto, National Director of New Business Development and Marketing for Speedway Children's Charities. "Three weeks prior to graduating from high school, I became victim of a drunk driver and went through two years of extensive surgery and rehabilitation. I know, firsthand, the importance of safe teen driving."
