Opening day of the Dollar General NHRA Four-Wide Nationals fueled by Full Throttle has been canceled due to rain and severe weather in the area. On-track action will resume as originally scheduled Saturday morning at 8 a.m., with Mello Yello Drag Racing Series qualifying scheduled for 12:15 p.m.

Tickets from today’s event can be redeemed for credit toward any single-day ticket for Saturday and Sunday at the Dollar General NHRA Four-Wide Nationals or any day of the NHRA Nationals, Sept. 13-15. Fans who have purchased season tickets for 2013 can use the credit toward 2014 renewals.

With the weather forecast for Saturday and Sunday expected to be sunny, and with temperatures in the mid-60s+, fans can expect blistering fast speeds and plenty of excitement when the NHRA’s best bring a 40,000 horsepower assault on the Bellagio of drag strips.

Gates open at 8 a.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. on Sunday. Mello Yello Drag Racing Series qualifying sessions are scheduled for 12:15 and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Final eliminations are scheduled to begin at noon on Sunday.

Children 13 and under are admitted for free every day of the Dollar General NHRA Four-Wide Nationals. Every ticket is a pit pass, allowing fans to observe and interact with their favorite drivers and teams, as well as check out Nitro Alley and a midway featuring displays, vendors and a kids’ play area.
