Kasey Kahne grabbed the pole for Saturday Night's CARQUEST Auto Parts 300 with a blistering new Busch Series track record lap of 186.735 mph. Kahne will be joined on the front row by fellow NEXTEL Cup driver Greg Biffle for the first ever Busch race to be run under the lights in the spring at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

"It was a pretty good lap. I felt like when I took the green, I turned into one really quick. Got a little loose and was able to drive through it. The same through three and four, and it wasn't too bad," said Kahne, driver of the No. 6 Country Crock Dodge.

"We won the pole so that's pretty cool. I felt great about getting the pole, and I think the race is going to be good. There is more rubber on the track and everybody is learning more about the cars."

Busch Series point leader Carl Edwards, Martin Truex Jr. and Paul Menard rounded out the top five. With the smoother, faster, "levigated" new track surface, 13 drivers broke the old track record of 184.445 set by Kevin Harvick in May of 2003.
