Kyle Busch Captures CARQUEST Auto Parts 300
"It's such a prestigious race," said Busch. "I was trying to save myself for the end of the race. You just have to feel your way around here and see where you run the best. It was important for the team. It hasn't been easy for these guys. It's my first win since the plane crash and I just dedicate this win to Ricky (Hendrick) and everyone else."
Busch averaged 117.968 mph and covered the 300 miles in 2 hours 32 minutes and 35 seconds. There were an event record 11 caution flags for 49 laps during the race and 13 lead changes among nine drivers.
Finishing second was Sterling Marlin only .5 seconds behind the winner. Rounding out the top five were Ryan Newman, Greg Biffle and rookie sensation Reed Sorenson in fifth.
