Support Events: After NEXTEL Cup qualifying, NASCAR Busch Series drivers and teams will have one hour of practice as they make final preparations for Friday night's Dollar General 300.

Format: The better of two laps will determine a driver's official qualifying speed for the Bank of America 500. Starting positions 1-42 will be determined by qualifying speeds with the top 35 in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series car owner standings guaranteed a starting position. The remainder of the 43-car field will be set as outlined by the event's official entry blank. The Bank of America 500 is not an impound race and teams will be free to make changes to their cars after qualifying.

Television/Radio: SPEED Channel will provide live coverage of NASCAR NEXTEL Cup qualifying during Bojangles' Pole Night. The telecast begins at 7:00 p.m. (EDT). The Performance Racing Network (PRN) will provide live coverage to its affiliate radio stations beginning at 7:00 p.m.
