Run on the frontstretch quarter-mile oval at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the 10-race series has served as a training ground for such NASCAR stars as Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kyle Busch and Reed Sorenson.

The opening round is scheduled to air at noon (EST) on Sunday, Dec. 3, with subsequent rounds slated for broadcast at noon on Sunday, Dec. 10; Sunday, Dec. 17; Sunday, Jan. 7 and Sunday, Jan. 14. The remaining one-hour telecasts will air at noon on Saturday, Jan. 20; Saturday, Jan. 27; Saturday, Feb. 3; Sunday, Feb. 4; and Saturday, Feb. 10.

Veteran Summer Shootout public address announcer Steve Post will anchor the telecasts with NASCAR analyst Wally Dallenbach and former motorcycle road racing star Dave Sadowski alternating as the color commentator. Veteran broadcaster Terry Chick will report from the garage area and victory lane.

The 13th annual Hardee's Summer Shootout featured three divisions of Legends Cars, three classes of Bandoleros and the Thunder Roadsters. School Bus races were run three times and the wild-and-wacky CRASHCars were in action on seven nights.

In addition to the on-track action, the telecasts will introduce viewers to young racers such as 13-year-old Casey Roderick, of Lawrenceville, Ga., who won the prestigious Peach Auto Body Legends Car Pro division championship, and 11-year-old Cody Blackburn, of Stanley, N.C., who recorded 10 straight top-10 finishes en route to the Lucas Oil Bandolero Bandits title.

Several Summer Shootout competitors have close ties to the NASCAR community including: Mike Wallace's daughter Chrissy and son Matt; Richard Childress' grandsons Austin and Ty Dillon; and Dave Blaney's son Ryan.
