Robert Sanders and Zack Forster plan to make the 5,000-mile round trip from their hometown of Bakersfield, Calif., to The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway for the April 20-21 Circle K Colossal 100.

Sanders and Forster are two of four Golden State drivers scheduled to compete in the $50,000-to-win, two-day late model spectacular as Eric Jacobsen, of Watsonville, Calif., and Bobby Hogge IV, of Salinas, Calif., have also submitted entries.

In just its sophomore year, the Circle K Colossal 100 is one of the nation's marquee dirt late model races and more than 100 drivers are expected to fill the pit area for the 360 OTC World of Outlaws Late Model Series event.

Sanders and Forster are business partners, they own and operate an underground drilling company, and racing late models is their golf game.

"I'm here to have fun," the 31-year-old Sanders said about his involvement in the sport. "If I don't have fun, I'm not going to race."

The two friends and teammates began racing four years ago in the hobby stock division at Bakersfield Speedway. They are now regulars with the nomadic Western Allstars Super Dirt Late Model Series and have started to venture out beyond their local tracks. The April 20-21 Circle K Colossal 100, however, will be the first time they have competed against the biggest names in dirt late model racing.

"Racing with competitive guys like Scott Bloomquist can only make you better as a driver," said the 32-year-old Forster. "I can't wait to race at The Dirt Track."

In addition to California, the entry list for the April 20-21 Circle K Colossal 100 includes drivers from 19 other states including New York, Wisconsin, Iowa, Arkansas, Michigan and Louisiana.

The Friday night portion of the Circle K Colossal 100 will feature group time trials and heat races. The top two finishers in each heat will secure a spot in the 100-lap finale and a draw will determine the starting lineup.

Saturday night's program begins with a driver autograph session and the on-track action includes at least four additional qualifying races prior to the main event. The race is part of the 360 OTC World of Outlaws Late Model Series, but The Dirt Track's traditional format, including the extremely popular double-file restarts, will be utilized.

If purchased in advance, reserved tickets for both Friday and Saturday nights are $49 for adults and $19 for children ages 12 and under.

Two-day pit passes are $60 in advance. Tickets and pit passes for the April 20-21 Circle K Colossal 100 can be purchased online at or by calling 1-800-455-FANS.

The Fleetwood RV Camping Resort is located adjacent to The Dirt Track and full-service camping spots can be reserved by calling (704) 455-4445.
