Charlotte Motor Speedway Christmas Tree Lighting And Speedway Children's Charities Grant Distribution

Monday, Dec. 1, 6 p.m.


 Marcus Smith, president and general manager of Charlotte Motor Speedway, and Scott Smith, president of the Charlotte chapter of Speedway Children's Charities, will light a one-of-a-kind Christmas tree at the main entrance to Charlotte Motor Speedway and distribute grants to local organizations on behalf of Speedway Children's Charities. The money will assist nonprofit charities making a direct and significant impact in the lives of children in need.

The public is invited to attend the ceremony that will include lighting a 50-foot Christmas tree, holiday music, refreshments and appearances by Lug Nut, the world's fastest mascot, and Santa Claus.


Monday, Dec. 1. Refreshments will be served at 5 p.m. The formal program will start at 6 p.m., with the tree lighting tentatively scheduled for 6:18 p.m.


Avenue of Flags in front of Smith Tower at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The track is located at the intersection of Bruton Smith Blvd. and Highway 29.
