Bigfoot, the legendary Monster Truck that launched one of the world¿s most popular forms of motorsports entertainment, headlines the list of car-crushing machines scheduled to compete in the Pit Pass Cabarrus Monster Truck Bash presented by Quaker Steak & Lube Saturday night, Aug. 21, at The Dirt Track @ Lowe¿s Motor Speedway.

The most unique vehicles in motorsports, Monster Trucks are typically 11-feet tall and tip the scales at nearly five tons. Their custom-built, fuel-injected engines produce between 1,500 and 2,000 horsepower and the gargantuan machines can jump 110 to 115 feet¿a distance greater than 14 cars side by side¿and up to 25 feet in the air.

Samson, Virginia Giant, Wild Hair, Predator, Equalizer, Big Dawg and American Guardian are scheduled to join Bigfoot for an evening of car-crushing destruction during the Pit Pass Cabarrus Monster Truck Bash.

In addition to the Monster Trucks competing in one-on-one elimination races over a wild obstacle course and then battling in a radical freestyle competition, the event will include two divisions of dirt-track stock car racing. The Road Hawgs, an entry-level division designed to put the ¿stock¿ back into stock car racing, and the extremely popular Dirt Crate Models will be in action.

Activities begin with the Quaker Steak & Lube Pit Party from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Fans can meet the legendary Monster Truck drivers, get autographs and have their pictures taken alongside the massive trucks. Pit Party passes are available only at Quaker Steak & Lube on Speedway Blvd.

If purchased in advance, reserved seats for the Pit Pass Cabarrus Monster Truck Bash are $18 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under. All seats are $2 more the day of the event while parking for all events at The Dirt Track is free.
