Accident Care Team Training Session April 2-3
The course, open to all emergency services personnel, teaches proper techniques for responding to motorsports emergencies. It covers basic to advanced medical, fire and rescue scenarios involving a variety of racing vehicles ranging from go-karts to NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series stock cars.
Participants will receive hands-on training in fire control, medical scenarios and extrication from experienced rescue personnel, including members of Charlotte Motor Speedway's highly regarded safety crew. The National Fire Protection Association 610 standards will also be covered.
The two-day session is free for all certified North Carolina firefighters and emergency medical technicians along with safety crew members from NASCAR-sanctioned race tracks. There is a $55 fee for out-of-state students and those not affiliated with an emergency services agency. Participants need to bring their own personal protection equipment.
