Pit Pass Cabarrus Super Nationals April 8-9
The Southern All Star Racing Series' East Tour steps to the plate first, sanctioning the Friday night, April 8, portion of the twin bill. A full slate of heat and last-chance races will lead to a 25-lap finale with $4,000 awaiting the winner.
Then Saturday night, April 9, the Lucas Oil NARA DirtCar Series makes its inaugural visit to the four-tenths-mile clay oval. The program, which will be taped for later air on ESPN2, will be capped by a 40-lap feature paying $10,000 to the winner.
The cars and stars from the two series are expected to be in action both nights with defending O'Reilly Southern All Star Racing Series champion Shane Tankersley of Morganton, Ga., and 2004 Lucas Oil NARA DirtCar Series titlist Shannon Babb of Moweaqua, Ill., headlining the entry list.
CRASHCars, the new division that is redefining entry-level short-track racing, will make its world debut during the Friday night card with a full slate of CRASHCar racing also on tap Saturday night.
The Pit Pass Cabarrus Super Nationals presented by RACEceiver will run in conjunction with the April 7-10 Food Lion AutoFair at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Spread over four days, Food Lion AutoFair is the nation's largest show of its kind. Among the attractions are a car show featuring more than 50 car clubs, thousands of parts and memorabilia vendors, a collector car auction and unusual automotive attractions. A car corral will feature nearly 1,500 vehicles of all makes and models available for sale or trade.
Adult tickets for the Friday night portion of the Pit Pass Cabarrus Super Nationals are $15 with children ages 12 and under admitted for just $5. Reserved adult seats for the Saturday card are $25 with children once again admitted for $5.
