One lucky fan will take a lap around Charlotte Motor Speedway with NASCAR team owner Richard Childress as he joins Speedway Children's Charities for the Ride of a Lifetime during pre-race festivities at the Oct. 17, NASCAR Banking 500 only from Bank of America.

The winning bidder of an online auction will ride in a parade lap vehicle during driver introductions for the only Saturday night race in the Chase. Prior to the ride along, the winner and a guest will receive a pit tour and two V.I.P. passes to the Richard Childress Racing condominium in Turn 1 to enjoy an outstanding view of Charlotte Motor Speedway under the lights for the fifth race in NASCAR's Chase for the Sprint Cup. Proceeds from the auction will benefit The Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma and Speedway Children's Charities.

"The Childress Institute is privileged to partner with Speedway Children's Charities," said Richard Childress, president and CEO of Richard Childress Racing, who co-founded the Childress Institute with his wife Judy in 2008. "During our 40 years of racing, we have always been dedicated to the fans. Now we have the opportunity to give back by saving the lives of seriously injured children across the United States."

"We are thrilled to be a part of the 40th anniversary of Richard Childress Racing and the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma," said Saundy Hutto, national director of new business development and marketing of Speedway Children's Charities. "This will be an exciting weekend for the fans and also build a platform of awareness for traumatically injured children."

"It's a privilege to be associated with Speedway Children's Charities, and we appreciate being the beneficiary of the Ride of a Lifetime auction," said J. Wayne Meredith, M.D., director of the Childress Institute. "The money raised will help further our research, education and prevention efforts to reduce life-threatening injuries to kids and to save lives."

The auction is now open for bidders and will conclude at 5 p.m. on October 14. Winning bid does not include transportation or lodging. To bid and gather additional information, please visit
