Charlotte Motor Speedway is gearing up for homecoming NASCAR Style with the fifth race of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, the NASCAR Banking 500 only from Bank of America on Saturday, Oct. 17.

Special amenities and events await fans as they arrive this week:

WoO Stars at The Dirt Track on Wednesday

While the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers are preparing for 500 miles of racing on Saturday, the World of Outlaws Late Model Series drivers are preparing for a short-track special on Wednesday night at The Dirt Track @ Charlotte Motor Speedway. The best of the best in late model racing will compete in the World of Outlaws Topless Showdown presented by Hungry Man, including Scott Bloomquist, Steve Francis, Josh Richards and Darrell Lanigan. NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Ryan Newman will pilot the No. 39 machine and Ken Schrader will drive the No. 9 entry. Gates open at 5 p.m. and opening ceremonies are scheduled for 7:15 p.m. Tickets are available at the gate or by calling 1-800-455-FANS. Reserved seats are just $25 for adults and $10 for children 12 years old and under.

Fans to Participate in Bojangles' Pole Night

Thursday night Charlotte Motor Speedway officials will randomly select fans in attendance for Bojangles' Pole Night to wave the green flag during NASCAR Sprint Cup Series qualifying. A total of 48 Sprint Cup cars are entered and will attempt to make the 43-car field for the NASCAR Banking 500. Qualifying is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.

Scouts in Free on Friday

Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troop members will be special guests at the Dollar General 300 on Friday. All uniformed scouts and uniformed scout leaders will receive a free ticket for admittance to the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway at Gates 30 and 31. Each additional family member must purchase a ticket at a special rate. Scout group leaders can contact the Charlotte Motor Speedway ticket office at 1-800-455-FANS for more details.

New CATS Route to Provide Easy Access to Speedway

The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS), the City of Concord and Charlotte Motor Speedway have partnered to bring citizens Saturday bus service from Center City Charlotte to Charlotte Motor Speedway. Starting from the Charlotte Transportation Center, fans can take the 79X Concord Mills Express to beat the traffic and enjoy Saturday's NASCAR Banking 500 for just $6 roundtrip. Ambrose, Reutimann and Newman Join 'PRN Up To SPEED' on Saturday

"PRN Up To SPEED" will feature a stellar lineup for the free fan forum taking place at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday. Marcos Ambrose, Ryan Newman and David Reutimann will join personalities from the Performance Racing Network on the SPEED stage, located at the speedway's main entrance, between 3 to 4 p.m., prior to the NASCAR Banking 500.

Fans to See Pink during NASCAR Banking 500 Week

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, race fans will see a lot of pink around Charlotte Motor Speedway during NASCAR Banking 500 Week. On Friday, three NASCAR Nationwide Series teams will sport special pink paint schemes for the Dollar General 300. Reed Sorenson (No. 10 Dollar General Toyota), Brian Vickers (No. 32 Dollar General Toyota) and Jason Leffler (No. 38 Great Clips Toyota) will all shed their normal paint schemes to go pink in partnership with Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Prior to the NASCAR Banking 500, The NASCAR Foundation's annual Track Walk at Charlotte Motor Speedway is also partnering with Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Fans interested in joining NASCAR personalities on the track can sign up at or at the Speedway Children's Charities rig during the event weekend.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure President and CEO, Hala Moddelmog, will serve as Honorary Race Director for the NASCAR Banking 500 on Saturday. During the race, five NASCAR Sprint Cup Series cars will feature pink paint schemes, including the No. 18 (Kyle Busch), No. 19 (Elliott Sadler), No. 21 (Bill Elliott), No. 55 (Michael Waltrip) and No. 96 (Bobby Labonte).

Traffic Information Available on 91.1 FM

Race fans will be able to tune into 91.1 FM for up-to-date traffic information following Friday's Dollar General 300 and Saturday's NASCAR Banking 500. Charlotte Motor Speedway will broadcast traffic exit updates on that frequency to inform fans of any traffic problems around the speedway.
