The Charlotte, N.C., region is gearing up for the Bank of America 500 on Oct. 16, and in addition to attending the only night race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, racing enthusiasts of all ages will have a host of other opportunities to totally immerse themselves in the sport of NASCAR all week long.

From Sunday, Oct. 10 through Sunday, Oct. 17, Charlotte and its surrounding cities will boast the most robust lineup of activities in the 51-year history of the Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Fans in town for the races can plan a visit to the NASCAR Hall of Fame, take a lap around the legendary superspeedway on foot or in a driving-school race car, tour one of the many team shops in the area or participate in number of special events being held throughout the week.

"From activities at the track for our fans and campers, to off-track events and one-of-a-kind experiences, Charlotte Motor Speedway is 'The Greatest Place to See the Chase,'" said Marcus Smith, president and general manager of Charlotte Motor Speedway. "This is the only place in the world where fans get this many opportunities to have fun and its all during Bank of America 500 Week."

Winston Kelley, executive director for the NASCAR Hall of Fame, said: "May has always been filled with an extensive line up of activities for race fans in Charlotte. With the addition of the NASCAR Hall of Fame and our many special race week events and all Bank of America and Charlotte Motor Speedway are doing, it is clear that the October race week now rivals that of any city on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series circuit. This impressive list of events is a great example of how we are all working together to ensure the motorsports community is an asset to the Charlotte tourism economy."

With children's tickets for many events priced at just $10, or just $1 for Bojangles' Pole Night at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Oct. 14, entertaining the entire family at a major sports event has never been more affordable. Great ticket packages are available for all events, like the Bank of America Fan 4 Pack that includes tickets, hot dogs and Coca-Cola drinks starting at just $39.75 per person.
