Cremer, Greci Promoted at Charlotte Motor Speedway
In a continued effort to put fans first and create unforgettable at-track experiences for visitors throughout the year, Charlotte Motor Speedway has announced two promotions within its events department.
Charlotte Motor Speedway President and General Manager Marcus Smith announced the promotions of Doug Cremer to the role of vice president of events and Matt Greci to the role of director of events.
"Doug and Matt are both longtime speedway employees who have shown their commitment and dedication to making Charlotte Motor Speedway the greatest entertainment venue in the world," Smith said. "In their new roles, both will continue to find new and creative ways to enhance the overall fan experience and help Charlotte Motor Speedway lead the way in creating memorable events for all of our visitors."
Cremer, who has served as the executive director of events since 2011, will be responsible for oversight of event management logistics and the fan experience, including track services, safety, operations, guest services and logistics. He joined Charlotte Motor Speedway in 2001 as an intern in sales and marketing and has also worked as the assistant manager of customer service and logistics and director of guest services and logistics.
Greci joined the speedway's full-time staff in 2006 after working as an intern for two summers and part-time in the corporate sales department as track rental coordinator and suite coordinator. When zMAX Dragway opened in 2008, Greci was named dragway manager. In September 2011, he was promoted to senior manager of events for Charlotte Motor Speedway. In 2013, Greci was named Charlotte Motor Speedway's Employee of the Year. In his new role, Greci will manage day-to-day operations of the events department, including logisitics for pre-race shows, car shows and concerts across all three of the speedway's facilities.
