First Round of Summer Drag and Brag Features Great Racing
Despite cloudy skies over zMAX Dragway, the first round of the Summer Drag and Brag Series featured great racing for all types of vehicles, from classic Camaros to street bikes and everything in between on Wednesday night. Racers took to the Bellagio of drag strips for bragging rights in several categories.
Shawn Landry, of Charlotte, N.C., took home the honors for Best Reaction Time with a .002 in his 2011 Ford Mustang. The Best Elapsed Time went to Darrell Holder, of Concord, N.C., in his 1986 Chevrolet Camaro with a time of 8.84 seconds. Larry Bell, of Salisbury, N.C., set the Top Speed at 146.18 mph in his 1974 Chevrolet Camaro. Driving a 2006 Infiniti G35, Brian Frias, of Charlotte, N.C., won the Iron Man award of the night for 7 passes on the rain shortened night and Matt McCulloh, of Winston-Salem, N.C., won Best in Show for his 2012 Nissan GTR.
