The adrenaline-charging excitement of the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series returns to zMAX Dragway for the third annual NHRA Four-Wide Nationals, April 13-15. The event is the fifth stop of 23 races in the 2012 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series.

As NHRA's one and only four-wide event, the first of two stops at zMAX Dragway will be the only chance NHRA fans get to experience the heart-pounding action of four 8,000-horsepower nitro-burning engines running side-by-side.

"At some 'normal' drag strips, we can have trouble getting two good lanes," said Antron Brown, driver of the Matco Tools Top Fuel dragster. "But at zMAX, they've got four lanes and you can get it done in every lane. It's that good. It's like the Disneyworld of drag racing. World records can be broken out of any lane; you've got side-by-side racing; and it's like a gladiator, winner-take-all final. Four cars at one time with 32,000 horsepower—this is definitely the greatest spectacle in drag racing!"

Thousands of NHRA fans were in the house last season when eventual Top Fuel world champ Del Worsham outran his Al-Anabi Racing teammate Larry Dixon, Shawn Langdon and Spencer Massey in the final round en route to collecting his second victory of the 2011 season. Summit Racing Pro Stock pilot Greg Anderson took out Dave Connolly, Greg Stanfield and rookie Vincent Nobile in the final round while Jack Beckman became the first non-John Force Racing pilot of the season to collect a win in the ultra-competitive class when he beat Tim Wilkerson, Jim Head and Bob Tasca III.

Due to wide-spread success last season, the very popular track walk will return four-wide style at zMAX Dragway Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. to kick off pre-race ceremonies. NHRA fans can stick around for the Championship Sunday Fanzone on the starting line and be a part of driver introductions. All Sunday ticket holders are welcome to cheer the drivers on in the Fanzone in front of the stage as they are introduced during pre-race ceremonies on the starting line.

Since each ticket is an exclusive pit pass, every NHRA fan will have an opportunity to meet all of the drivers who will be racing at speeds of more than 300 mph in hot pursuit of a Wally trophy during the most sensory-filled motorsports attraction on the planet. A win at zMAX Dragway is important from a championship perspective as teams are pursuing NHRA Full Throttle world championship glory during the 23-event season that crisscrosses the United States.
