Dale Earnhardt Jr. will celebrate his 40th birthday during the Oct. 9-11 Bank of America 500 weekend and fans can join the fun at the Dale Jr. Birthday Pit Party presented by BI-LO on Saturday, Oct. 11.

The pre-race pit party will include a concert by The Band Perry, the 2014 Academy of Country Music Vocal Group of the Year, along with performances by Parmalee and Jimmy Wayne.

The No. 88 National Guard driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. and defending NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson will make appearances on stage for fan Q&A sessions, while pit crew demonstrations, games and photo opportunities will take place in Victory Circle and toward the exit of pit road. All the entertainment will be broadcast for every ticket holder in the colossal speedway HDTV.

"Fans play such an integral part in everything I do, so to be able to give them the opportunity to be directly involved in this milestone birthday will be meaningful to me," said Earnhardt Jr. "I appreciate our partners Ragú®, BI-LO and Charlotte Motor Speedway for their involvement. Hopefully the concert and pit party will be just the start of the celebration. That evening will be an extremely pivotal race, as this new Chase format has raised the overall intensity of the racing extremely high."

On race day, fans will also be invited to sign a giant birthday card for NASCAR's most popular driver at the Ragú® booth located in the Fan Zone. The birthday card will be presented to Earnhardt Jr. following his National Guard Fan Q&A appearance on stage.

"Every race at Charlotte Motor Speedway is a party, but with Dale Jr. turning 40, this will absolutely be one the fans and Junior will never forget," said Marcus Smith, president and general manager of Charlotte Motor Speedway. "We'll have three hours of wide-open fun before Junior goes wide-open on the track looking for his first Bank of America 500 victory."

From knockout qualifying on Thursday and the NASCAR Nationwide Series' best battling for bragging rights on Friday to the Birthday Pit Party and the only Saturday night race in the Chase, fans can catch all the fun with weekend packages starting at just $99, plus gain infield access to Dale Jr.'s Birthday Pit Party with the additional purchase of a pre-race pit pass or driver introduction pass.
