Summer Drag & Brag Features Great Grudge Racing and NHRA Pro Stock Testing
The Sept. 8 Summer Drag & Brag Series event featured NHRA Pro Stock testing in preparation for the Sept. 16-19 O'Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Nationals and some great grudge-racing action.
Paul Markert of Charlotte, N.C. recorded the top reaction time of .004 seconds during the evening in his 1970 Chevrolet Camaro. The Best Elapsed Time (9.095 seconds) and Top Speed (152.06 mph) honors went to Jayson Timberlake from Stedman, N.C. in his 1969 Chevrolet Camaro. Tim Pressley from Charlotte, N.C. produced the Best Burnout of the night in his 1968 Chevrolet Camaro. The 1932 Austin Bantam of Gerald Haines from Kings Mountain, N.C., won the Best in Show award. The night's Iron Man award went to Tony Spitz in his 2008 Grand Cherokee SRT8.
