The 20th annual Jack in the Box Summer Shootout Series will go out with a bang this Monday and Tuesday, with back-to-back nights of fun for the whole family during Rounds Nine and Ten. The double-header will be highlighted by huge fireworks display on Tuesday and a Grudge Match Bus Race on Monday evening, featuring NASCAR drivers Max Papis and Miguel Paludo; Legend Car Pro drivers Daniel Hemric and Tyler Green; Security Force Legend Car Masters drivers Bruce Silver and Eddie Harwell; and the World's Fastest Mascot, Lug Nut, and the Carolina Panthers' Sir Purr.

Papis, who runs a limited NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule, is ready to take on Paludo in what is sure to be a thrilling school bus slobberknocker.

"I just think it's a fun thing to do. I look at it like entertainment for all my friends and family," Papis said. "It's a great way to spend Monday night at Charlotte Motor Speedway, and I get to hang out with all my friends and all the kids that race Legends and Bandoleros.

"My strategy is painting my bus as dark as I can so that Miguel will not be able to see me. I'm definitely going to be incognito until it will be time to go. I hope that my lights are going to work so that I can flash him by. Move over bud, Mad Max is coming through!"

Paludo, a full-time NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver, has never raced a bus, but he is not letting that deter him.

"I'm really excited. It's my first time ever that I am going to race a bus," Paludo said. "My strategy is to get up front and lead every lap. I think Max should watch out for my bus because if I am behind him, I will be coming for him. I am going to race him as hard as I can every lap. He should watch out for the Brazilian coming."

The bus race will pit some of the series' top rivals against each other in special racing school buses on the frontstretch quarter-mile for bragging rights and a trophy.

Round Nine, on Monday, will also feature a car cruise promoting the fall AutoFair at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Sept. 19-22. Local car clubs will cruise around the 1.5-mile superspeedway to show off their classic rides.

In addition on Monday night, in honor of the birth of the royal baby, Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge, any fan that shows a photo ID proving their first name is George at the main ticket office will receive one free adult admission to the Jack in the Box Summer Shootout Series.

On Tuesday, Jack in the Box Summer Shootout Series Champion's Night is presented by Stock Car Steel and Aluminum. Champions will be crowned in six divisions, each featuring a tight points battle, as drivers will have accumulated points through 10 nights of racing, and look to lock up a prestigious Summer Shootout championship.

Also during Round 10, crowd-pleasing Stadium Stocks from Bowman Gray Stadium will take to the frontstretch quarter-mile to put on a show for the fans in a special exhibition race. The evening will be capped off with a huge, 15-minute fireworks extravaganza, which will include not only the originally scheduled show, but the fireworks postponed from the Fourth of July celebration.

Each night of the Jack in the Box Summer Shootout Series features a full slate of the nation's best Legend Car and Bandolero racing on the frontstretch quarter-mile, as well as appearances by the World's Fastest Mascot, Lug Nut, and tons of family fun.

Families are also welcome to come get a cool down from Charlotte Motor Speedway's fire truck, Engine 343, as it sprays water into the grandstands.

The Charlotte Motor Speedway Play Zone will be open and will feature bounce houses, face painting and interactive games at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Fan Van.
