Tracy Rich has been named Charlotte Motor Speedway’s 2012 Salesperson of the Year.

Rich, the speedway’s senior director of business development, is primarily responsible for seeking out new track partners and maintaining existing partnerships. He works with a wide range of major clients, including Time Warner, Target, Papa John’s Pizza and Blue Cross Blue Shield. He has worked at the speedway for more than 10 years and was awarded the honor of Salesperson of the Year in 2004.

“Tracy has a tireless work ethic and an unmatched enthusiasm for building and maintaining relationships with key marketing partners,” said Dan Farrell, senior vice president of corporate sales for Charlotte Motor Speedway. “He is a creative thinker who is always looking for new ways to match the needs of his clients with the opportunities we have to build brand loyalty and engage fans here at Charlotte Motor Speedway.”

In 2012, Rich grew his sales by 129 percent over 2011, including signing LiftMaster to a three-year deal as the pole night sponsor for the Coca-Cola 600. In addition, Rich finalized a multi-year agreement with Duke Energy to serve as an official sponsor of Charlotte Motor Speedway. He also expanded the speedway’s relationship with Target to include sponsorship of the Blake Shelton pre-race concert and expand marketing efforts to campers during the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race.

As part of his recognition, the speedway awarded Rich with a trip to the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Banquet this week in Las Vegas. He will be joined by his wife, Lexi.
