With more than 3 million lights in 800 displays and a bustling Christmas village, Speedway Christmas brings exciting sights and sounds to annual drive-through light show. This weekend, TubaChristmas will add to the sounds of the season with a performance outside of the Christmas village at 7 p.m. on Saturday.

TubaChristmas is a local group based in Concord, North Carolina, that brings together musicians of all ages who play baritone, euphonium, sousaphone and tuba to perform classic Christmas tunes under the direction of Joseph Earp, director of bands at Cox Mill High School.

Earp expects between 50 and 75 participants to take part in the Speedway Christmas concert on Saturday night.

"The mission of TubaChristmas is to provide an opportunity to bring people together," Earp said. "We're excited to have the opportunity to perform at such a unique venue and be part of Speedway Christmas."

Visitors can expect to hear classic holiday songs like "Deck the Halls," "Silent Night" and "Joy to the World."

In addition to the music, the holiday classic "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" will be shown on the speedway's 16,000-square-foot HDTV on both Friday and Saturday as part of FOX 46 Movie Night at Speedway Christmas. Movie nights are free with admission to Speedway Christmas. Each movie begins at 7 p.m. Guests can tune their car radio to 101.5 FM to hear the audio.

Speedway Christmas is open nightly from 6 until 10 p.m. through Dec. 30 (closed Christmas Day). On Thursday through Sunday nights, visitors can take a photo with Santa, roast marshmallows by the fire pits and even roam the petting zoo, which is home to more than 50 different animals, all part of the infield Christmas village.

Tickets are available online or at the gate. Admission is just $15 per car on nights the Christmas village is closed and $20 per car on nights the village is open. Guests who present a Coca-Cola product at the time of ticket purchase can receive $3 off their admission to the light show. Group rates are also available.
