Officials at zMAX Dragway are launching a new social media contest for the Sept. 15-18 O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Nationals. Fans can participate in the inaugural Retweet2Speed contest by following zMAX Dragway on the popular social media platform, Twitter. One lucky fan will win a VIP prize package at the Bellagio of drag strips for the opening event in the NHRA’s Countdown to the Championship.

The prize package includes four suite tickets on the fan’s day of choice, a meet-and-greet with their favorite NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series driver and a chance to feel 16,000 horsepower move the earth by standing at the start line of an NHRA nitro race.

Beginning Aug. 29, zMAX Dragway’s Twitter account (@zMAXDragway) will post a Retweet2Speed tweet at 12 p.m. EDT every day for two weeks. Fans that retweet the message each day for the entire period will be entered into a random drawing. The winner will be announced on Friday, Sept. 9. Complete contest rules can be found on the zMAX Dragway website.

The fourth annual O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Nationals is the first race in the NHRA’s Countdown to the Championship postseason. All four professional categories, Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle, begin their final push for the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series world championship.

In addition to the spectacular night qualifying session on Friday, Sept. 16, fans will see world-famous fire acts, Jimmy Pyro and Srikanta Barefoot, perform both Friday and Saturday evening during zMAX Dragway’s Nights of Fire.

NHRA legend “TV” Tommy Ivo will be on-site throughout the weekend to meet fans, sign autographs and copies of his book, “TV” Tommy Ivo, Drag Racing’s Master Showman, and show off some of his legendary cars, including the four-engine Showboat, in the pavilion located near the pro staging lanes behind the John Force Grandstand.

Ivo is well known for being one of the first professional drag racers in the country, but he didn’t earn his nickname by becoming a racecar driver. Ivo spent most of his childhood and young adult life working in Hollywood as an actor. The NHRA legend made sure to bring the flair from Hollywood with him to the race track, a place that wasn’t known for its flamboyance, which earned him the nickname “TV” Tommy Ivo.

In honor of the NHRA’s 60th anniversary, fans can purchase two tickets to any day of the O'Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Nationals for a total of only $60 and receive a choice of a free upgrade: two 60th anniversary hats; two 60th anniversary shirts; two beer vouchers; or two Coca-Cola soft drinks and two hot dogs.

Tickets for the O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Nationals are on sale now and can be purchased by calling the ticket office at 1-800-455-FANS (3267) or online at
