The "drug scene" in NASCAR will shift into high gear during 2008.

In this case, the drug of choice will be adrenaline pumped through the veins of a select group of young drivers who will make enormous strides in slowing the Hendrick juggernaut that produced 18 victories during the2007 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup season.

Speedway Motorsports, Inc. (NYSE:TRK) has agreed to purchase New Hampshire International Speedway from Bob and Gary Bahre for $340 million in cash. The agreement was announced today by O. The meticulously restored Chevrolet classic was selected from among more than 50 Best of Show car club winners by H.A. "Humpy" Wheeler, president and general manager of Lowe's Motor Speedway.

The No. 3 Chevrolet Dale Earnhardt was driving when he performed the legendary "pass in the grass;" a classic 1957 Chevrolet belonging to a 4-year-old pre-schooler; and Bumblebee and Ironhide from the hit movie "Transformers" are among the featured attractions at this weekend's Food Lion AutoFair.

Back in 1966, it threw David Pearson against the wall and it got Davey Allison and Dale Earnhardt on the same night in 1992. Then, last year, it made a mess of just about everybody.

Earl Pearson Jr., driving a car owned by 2000 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup champion Bobby Labonte, topped the 92-car field in time trials during the opening night of the second annual Circle K Colossal 100 Friday at The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway.
