Chevrolet's Impala SS, a dragstrip terror whose V-8 engine was made legendary by The Beach Boys' song "409," has fascinated local restorer/collector Jerry Dennis for a half-century. Along with thousands of other automotive enthusiasts, Dennis will be searching for elusive classic car parts during the April 7-10 Food Lion AutoFair at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Charlotte Motor Speedway will host a Twitter competition in honor of the world's largest automotive extravaganza as the Food Lion AutoFair returns to the track April 7-10.  Participants will compete for a chance to win not only an AutoFair prize pack, but tickets to the NASCAR Sprint All-Star race.

On Feb. 12-13, more than 100 students gathered at Charlotte Motor Speedway for a two-day track services personnel training session to prepare for the upcoming racing season. Personnel from facilities around the nation received hands-on safety training for all events at the speedway, which was the first NASCAR-sanctioned track to offer such classes, starting in 1991.

Beginning Monday, Jan. 17, the Performance Racing Network (PRN)  drops the green flag on the first in a series of 13 live broadcasts of the popular show “Fast Talk” from The Speedway Club at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The broadcasts are scheduled from January to December and will be a part of the Club’s “Man Cave Monday” promotion.

Kenny Crites, of Charleston, S.C., is the lucky new owner of Tommy Pike’s powerful custom Cobra replica after winning Speedway Children’s Charities custom car raffle. The raffle began nearly four months ago during the August Food Lion AutoFair at Charlotte Motor Speedway and more than 1,000 tickets were sold, raising nearly $24,000 for children in need.
