The 2013 zMAX Dragway track champions were decided and Kyle Oliver was crowned King of the Track Saturday, giving him bragging rights to accompany his berth to the NHRA bracket finals. More than 200 competitors came from states across the region, including West Virginia, Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee, in addition to those from North Carolina.

Enders became the first woman in NHRA history to win in Pro Stock at Chicago, and together they became the first two women to share the winner’s circle at Seattle. Rini, a passenger on U.S. Airways Flight 1549 from New York to Charlotte, N.C., that crashed into the Hudson River, is a record-setting racer with multiple championships under his belt. Wednesday, at zMAX Dragway, PINKS All Out went green in honor of Earth Day. The popular SPEED TV series will return to the Bellagio of drag strips April 23-24. Cars that hit the track to promote eco-friendly fuels included four Toyota Camry pace cars raced by fans who won a contest on FOX Got Game, four entirely electric cars provided by Li-ion Motors Corp., and several race vehicles powered by BioWeapon Racing Fuel.

NHRA announced today that O'Reilly Auto Parts has agreed to a multi-year deal to become the title rights sponsor of the third annual O'Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Nationals at zMAX Dragway, Sept. 16-19.
The O'Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Nationals is the second of six races in the NHRA Full Throttle Countdown to the Championship, NHRA's playoff-style format to determine the world champions in each of its four Full Throttle Series classes.
