One of Santa’s helpers is bringing some special gluten-free treats, including delicious gluten-free corn dogs and funnel cakes, to Speedway Christmas. Big John’s BBQ and Catering has two locations, one at the Coca-Cola Ice Rink and one in the Christmas Village at Speedway Christmas, which offer gluten-free menus.

Charlotte-area residents can give back this holiday season and enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience at Charlotte Motor Speedway by participating in the second annual Speed for Children in Need 5K on Saturday, Dec. 8. The 5K will benefit the Charlotte Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities (SCC), the Hendrick Marrow Program and Let Me Run as they continue their efforts to help local children in need.

The biggest day-after-Thanksgiving tradition in racing, the 20th annual Souvenir and Race Ticket Blow-Out, is returning Nov. 23 to provide fans with one-of-a-kind deals. Closing out Charlotte Motor Speedway’s week-long Thanksgiving celebration, which includes the Speedway Christmas kickoff on Monday and a viewing of the Capitol Christmas tree on Thanksgiving Day, the event gives consumers a unique way to enjoy the most popular shopping day of the year.

Donny Schatz, Darrell Lanigan and Matt Sheppard were crowned champions in front of a spectacular standing-room-only crowd Saturday night at The Dirt Track at Charlotte, concluding three beautiful days of racing at the sixth annual PEAK Motor Oil World of Outlaws World Finals presented by NAPA Auto Parts. Jimmy Owens, Dale Blaney and Brett Hearn were the evening’s A-Feature winners.

For the fourth consecutive year, grandstand tickets for the PEAK Motor Oil World of Outlaws World Finals presented by NAPA Auto Parts are sold out, but Charlotte Motor Speedway officials have announced that a few hundred standing-room-only tickets are now on sale for the 2012 season finale at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.

Beginning tomorrow, the three biggest series in dirt racing will take to the four-tenths-mile clay oval for the sixth annual PEAK Motor Oil World of Outlaws World Finals. Running Thursday through Saturday, the PEAK World Finals is the season-ending event for the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, World of Outlaws Late Model Series and the Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modifieds.

Fans can now purchase single-day tickets for The Greatest Show on Dirt, the Nov. 1-3 World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.
Tickets are $20 for adults on Thursday and $39 on Friday and Saturday and $10 for kids 13 and under on Thursday and $15 on Friday and Saturday. Fans still have the option to purchase three-day tickets for $69 for adults and $24 for kids 13 and under.

The Spring Season of Speed continues April 20-21, with the return of the Traxxas TORC Off-Road Championship Series presented by AMSOIL. These high-flying, Baja-style, off-road racing trucks will battle not only a field of world-class competition, but a challenging course of turns and jumps that is sure to have fans on the edge of their seats. New for this year, the TORC event will run in conjunction with the world's largest automotive extravaganza, the Food Lion AutoFair, at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Two-time defending World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion Jason Meyers will be stepping away from racing following a 14-race “Allstar Appreciation Tour” during the 2012 season. Meyers, who turned 33 on Jan. 30, made the announcement this past week that he will be making the move in order to spend more time with his wife and two young daughters.
