Thousands of people filled Bank of America Plaza and lined Tryon Street Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, in Charlotte as Lowe’s Motor Speedway displayed its Fall Season of Speed with 22,000 horsepower in a Parade of Power.
A dozen vehicles scheduled to participate in events across all three speedway venues, Lowe’s Motor Speedway, zMAX Dragway and The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motor Speedway, paraded down Tryon Street in front of the crowd and stopped at the plaza for a fan forum featuring defending NASCAR Banking 500 only from Bank of America winner Jeff Burton, Coca-Cola 600 winner David Reutimann, and NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series competitors Doug Herbert and Matt Smith.
The drivers fielded questions from the audience, conducted interviews with members of the media and signed autographs for fans while in Uptown Charlotte to promote the 16 upcoming events at the speedway’s facilities.
