NHRA Four-Wide Nationals
Friday, April 13 – Sunday, April 15
The NHRA 4-Wide Nationals are coming April 13-15, to zMAX Dragway and the competition starts with
an electronic device commonly known as a Christmas Tree because of its multicolored starting lights.
PRE-STAGE INDICATOR LIGHTS: These yellow bulbs warn drivers that they are approaching the startling line and the "staged" position.
STAGE INDICATOR LIGHTS: A signal that drivers are on the starting line ready to race.
THREE-AMBER STARTING SYSTEM: All three floodlights in the driver's lane flash at the same time before the green light comes on. Telling the drivers to "get ready to race!"
GREEN LIGHT: This is the one that makes it happen. Once the green light is flashed, it is time to go racing!
RED LIGHT: Not good. The car in that lane started before the green light came on, and has been disqualified.
