Quaker Steak & Lube 200 Spotlight on Diamond Rio
Led by lead vocalist Marty Roe, Diamond Rio will perform the national anthem prior to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event and then ride along in the 200-mile race as the group's logo will adorn the hood of the No. 47 All Star Chevrolet driven by 2002 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series champion Tony Stewart.
"We are big supporters of NASCAR...all huge fans of the sport," said Roe. "We are thrilled we can be on-site to sing the National Anthem and cheer Tony on."
Diamond Rio has earned five Country Music Association awards, including four for Vocal Group of the Year, and was also twice named the Academy of Country Music's Group of the Year.
Twenty-five of the group's singles have reached the top-10 on Billboard's Country chart with nine climbing all the way to No. 1, including "Beautiful Mess," "One More Day," "I Believe," "Meet in the Middle" and "Norma Jean Riley."
In addition to Roe, Diamond Rio is comprised of guitarist, Jimmy Olander; bass player Dana Williams; keyboardist, Dan Truman; tenor singer, Gene Johnson and drummer, Brian Prout.
Chevrolet's All Star program combines country music personalities with NASCAR NEXTEL Cup drivers to promote the manufacturer's line of Silverado pickup trucks while also serving as a research and development tool for General Motor's Craftsman Truck Series effort.
