Building on a rich tradition of spectacular pre-race shows, Charlotte Motor Speedway officials outlined details today for an All-American Spectacular pre-race show for the May 29 Coca-Cola 600 that will include circus-style aerial thrill acts performed at heights exceeding a 14-story building.

With Cirque-style chorography, five aerial thrill acts will offer non-stop entertainment for race fans attending the 46th running of Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race.

The acts include the "Human Cannonball" as stuntman Dave "The Bullet" Smith Jr. soars 150-feet along the front straightaway; "Galaxy Girl" who will perform death-defying maneuvers some 140-feet in the air on a high mast; and the Nock Air Helo Trapeze will feature the world's only trapeze extreme team performing aerial stunts on a high-wire mounted below a moving helicopter.

Stunt aerialists will also perform on Sway Poles reaching 60 feet into the air and the entertainment is rounded out by five giant Space Wheels, which extend 40-feet into the air and feature breath-taking performances.

The circus aerial acts are part of the speedway's extensive pre-race entertainment that includes performances by the "American Idol" finalists, "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest, several celebrities and a strong salute to our country's armed forces.

"This is the most extensive and diverse pre-race entertainment lineup we've ever assembled for the Coca-Cola 600," said H.A. "Humpy" Wheeler, president and general manager of the speedway. "From television's favorite idols to NASCAR's most popular heroes, we've got something for everyone this year."

All pre-race entertainment is included with a ticket to the Coca-Cola 600. Tickets are available through the speedway ticket office by calling 1-800-455-FANS or online at www.charlottemotorspeedway.com.
