Port-O-Jet, the world's only jet-powered outhouse, will heat up the action Saturday night during the inaugural CRASHCars Tournament of Thrills at The Dirt Track @ Charlotte Motor Speedway.

One of the most unique vehicles on four wheels, the standard-size outhouse has been fitted with a jet engine and is capable of speeds approaching 70 mph.

With designer Paul Stender strapped to the "driver's seat," Port-O-Jet will attempt to break its own world speed record for one lap around a four-tenths-mile clay oval. Port-O-Jet made its world debut at The Dirt Track in 2002 and circled the track at an average speed of 34.72 mph.

Port-O-Jet is part of a jet-powered tripleheader during the evening of motorized mayhem. Kamikaze, an ATV powered by a General Electric T-58 jet engine, will melt a compact car while the evening's grand finale will see Crunch Time, an International truck powered by a 17,000-horsepower Westinghouse J-34 jet engine, use its afterburner to turn a school bus into a pile of smoldering rubble.

A full slate of racing for the wild-and-crazy CRASHCars is also on tap along with a Two-Car Team Chain Race, a Rollover Contest, All-Terrain Vehicle races and a Trailer Race of Destruction.

Spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with opening ceremonies at 7:15 p.m. On-track action begins with the first CRASHCar heat race at 7:30.

The CRASHCars Tournament of Thrills will run in conjunction with the Sept. 15-18 Food Lion AutoFair at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The four-day event includes various makes and models from some 50 car clubs; more than 8,000 vendor spaces that offer a plethora of automotive parts and memorabilia; a collector car auction conducted by Tom Mack; and a car corral which completely circles the 1.5-mile superspeedway with cars available for sale or trade.

Reserved seats for the CRASHCars Tournament of Thrills are just $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 12 and under. Parking at The Dirt Track is always free. To purchase tickets, call 1-800-455-FANS or click here.
