The premier edition of Pole Position, a high-quality motorsports magazine which previews the Oct. 12-15 UAW-GM Quality 500 Week events at Charlotte Motor Speedway, is now available free of charge at Food Lion and Circle K stores in the Charlotte region.

Jimmie Johnson, winner of three consecutive NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series races at Charlotte Motor Speedway, is featured on the cover of Pole Position and the magazine also includes articles on Rusty Wallace and Mark Martin along with a question-and-answer interview with H.A. "Humpy" Wheeler, president and general manager of Charlotte Motor Speedway.

It also provides readers with valuable pre-race information, including schedules, race previews, driver profiles and maps of the speedway grounds and parking areas. It is filled with high-quality photography from the Charlotte Motor Speedway photo staff and includes a comprehensive children's section, titled Lug Nut's Garage.

UAW-GM Quality 500 Week starts with the Mopar Sprint Car Nationals Wednesday night, Oct. 12, at The Dirt Track @ Charlotte Motor Speedway. Bojangles' Pole Night qualifying is on tap Thursday, Oct. 13, followed by the Dollar General 300 NASCAR Busch Series race on Friday night, Oct. 14. The action culminates Saturday night, Oct. 15, with the UAW-GM Quality 500, round five in the 10-race Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup.
