<!-- .style1 { color: #FF0000; font-weight: bold; } --> Bank of America will present the World Short-Track Championships featuring five divisions of racing Friday and Saturday nights, Oct. 28-29, at The Dirt Track @ Charlotte Motor Speedway.

A $40,500 purse will be up for grabs and the inaugural event is expected to attract many of the Southeast's top short-track racers to the lightning-fast four-tenths-mile clay oval.

The steel-head late models of the Dixie Thunder Series headline the two-day program with the winged sprint cars of the American Sprint Car Series' Southern Tour also on the card. IMCA modifieds, Top Tracks dirt crate models and CRASHCars round out the action-packed program.

Practice and qualifying heat races for each of the five divisions will be Friday night, Oct. 28, with last chance races and feature events on tap Saturday night, Oct. 29.

Each competitor whose entry form is postmarked by midnight on Oct. 14 will receive one free driver pit pass. In addition, the highest finishing driver in each of the five features who was entered prior to the deadline will receive a $500 bonus. Entry forms can be downloaded online at www.charlottemotorspeedway.com/wstc.

The Bank of America presents the World Short-Track Championships will run in conjunction with the 12th annual Goodguys Southeastern Nationals at Charlotte Motor Speedway. One of the nation's largest street rod shows, the Goodguys Southeastern Nationals annually attracts more than 3,000 pre-1972 hot rods, customs and classics.

One ticket is good for both nights of the Bank of America presents the World Short-Track Championships and adult seats are just $25 with children ages 12 and under admitted for $10.

Tickets can be purchased online here or by calling the Charlotte Motor Speedway ticket office at 1-800-455-FANS.
