Event: The 2006 NASCAR NEXTEL Pit Crew Challenge presented by Craftsman will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at the Charlotte Bobcats Arena.

New Venue: NASCAR will be the seventh different sport to compete in Bobcats Arena since the facility opened in the fall of 2005. Other sports include basketball (NBA, WNBA, college and high school), hockey, figure skating, indoor motocross, professional wrestling, equestrian competition and monster-truck racing.

NASCAR is Rare Indoors: The 2006 NASCAR NEXTEL Pit Crew Challenge marks the second-ever indoor NASCAR-sanctioned event. Last year's inaugural event was the only other indoor NASCAR event in the sport's history.

Defending Champions: The No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge team captured the NASCAR NEXTEL Pit Crew Challenge crown in 2005 with a pit stop of 16.41 seconds. The team's winnings totaled $70,000 as a team. Breaking that pit stop down, the team earned $4,337.05 per second and each team member earned $619.58 per second.

Fast Money: Kevin Pennell, jackman for the No. 15 Napa Autoparts Chevrolet, earned the $10,000 individual prize with a time of 7.24 seconds, or $1,381.21 per second.
