Qualifying: One round of qualifying will take place during Bojangles' Pole Night on Thursday, Oct. 12, at 7:10 p.m. The better of two laps will determine positions 1-42 with the top 35 in NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series car owner points guaranteed a starting position. The final position in the 43-car field will be determined as outlined by the event's official entry blank. The Bank of America 500 is not an impound race.

Television/Radio: The NBC Television Network will televise the race live beginning with the "Bank of America Countdown to Green" pre-race show at 7:00 p.m. (EDT). Performance Racing Network (PRN) will broadcast the Bank of America 500 live to its affiliate radio stations beginning with a pre-race show at 6:00 p.m. (EDT).
