Crisco Earns Employee of the Year Award
Presented annually, the award recognizes an individual who goes above and beyond the call of duty in executing his or her responsibilities. The winner is determined by a vote of the speedway's executive committee and is selected from among 12 Employee of the Month award recipients.
A native of Charlotte who now lives in Albemarle, N.C., Crisco is a ticket sales associate and renewal supervisor in the track's ticket services department. She joined the speedway staff in 1998 after working in various race-time capacities for seven years.
"Angie Crisco takes customer service to a new level, but most importantly, she makes buying a ticket fun for our fans," said H.A. "Humpy" Wheeler, president and general manager of Charlotte Motor Speedway. "She's basically got her own fan club. There are lots of people who call or stop by the ticket office and won't talk to anybody but Angie because she's so enthusiastic about helping them."
"I don't want our customers to feel like they are just a number," Crisco explained. "Being able to help fans, who struggle to attend the races within their budget, pulls at your heart. To see them happy and excited for their families is like fulfilling their dream. I really enjoy interacting with the race fans and being named Employee of the Year is such an honor."
As the 2006 Employee of the Year recipient, Wheeler presented Crisco with a $1,000 bonus, a reserved parking space and the keys to a Toyota Camry company car for 2007.
