Fans Can Meet Drivers during Eckerd Pit Party
The 90-minute Eckerd Pit Party starts at 4:30 p.m. and will take place on the concourse under the main grandstand. All World of Outlaws drivers competing in the $10,000 to-win sprint car event are scheduled to participate. In addition, several of the World of Outlaws teams will have their race cars on display.
In order to gain admission to the Eckerd Pit Party, fans must have a valid event ticket and a souvenir Eckerd Pit Party pass. The Pit Party passes can be obtained at Charlotte area Eckerd Pharmacy locations.
More than 30 cars are expected to compete in the May 25 Eckerd Outlaw Showdown and the entry list includes 20-time World of Outlaws champion Steve Kinser, defending series titlist Donny Schatz and 2001 champ Danny Lasoski.
Second-generation driver Joey Saldana, piloting the No. 9 sprint car owned by NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series driver Kasey Kahne, and veteran Paul McMahan, driving the No. 20 sprint car owned by two-time NASCAR NEXTEL Cup champion Tony Stewart, will also be on hand.
The late model stock cars of the Goodyear Fastrak Challenge will join the sprint cars during the action-packed program when racing begins at 8:25 p.m.
Reserved seats for the Eckerd Outlaw Showdown on Friday, May 25, are just $25 for adults and $10 for children ages 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased by calling the speedway ticket office at 1-800-455-FANS or online.
