Petree Captures Inaugural Kobalt Crew Chiefs Race
Petree Captures Inaugural Kobalt Crew Chiefs Race:
Prior to the NEXTEL Open, ESPN color commentator and former Dale Earnhardt crew chief Andy Petree piloted a 600 Racing Thunder Roadster to victory lane in the first-ever Kobalt Crew Chiefs Race. The event took place on the quarter-mile frontstretch oval of the superspeedway with a lineup of 18 past and present NEXTEL Cup crew chiefs.
Andy Petree (Winner): "That was a lot of fun. We were out here practicing Thursday night and I knew we had a good car, but I didn't know it was going to be that good. The car was perfect and it was fun to get back behind the wheel again. I tried to talk them into letting me start at the rear of the field for the NEXTEL Open but they wouldn't go for that!"
