Monster Truck Mayhem Returns to The Dirt Track
Avenger, the high-flying Monster Truck that features a one-of-a-kind 1957 Chevrolet body, headlines the list of metal-mashing machines scheduled to compete in the Circle K Monster Truck Bash Saturday night, Aug. 18, at The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway.
The most unique vehicles in motorsports, Monster Trucks are typically 11-feet tall and tip the scales at nearly five tons. Their custom-built, fuel-injected engines produce between 1,500 and 2,000 horsepower and the gargantuan machines can jump 110 to 115 feet-a distance greater than 14 cars side by side-and up to 25 feet in the air.
Bigfoot, Brutus, El Matador, Equalizer, Hot Tamale, King Krunch, Nitemare, Raminator, Samson, Scarlet Bandit and T-Maxx are scheduled to join Avenger for an evening of car-crushing destruction.
In addition to the Monster Trucks competing in one-on-one elimination races over a radical obstacle course and then battling in an insane freestyle competition, the CRASHCars will compete in a full slate of racing and then participate in a wild-and-crazy Trailer Race of Destruction.
Activities begin with the Circle K Pre-Race Pit Party where fans can meet the Monster Truck drivers, have their pictures taken with the gargantuan trucks and obtain autographs. Ticket holders can gain early entry to the Pit Party by purchasing a can of Full Throttle energy drink at a Circle K store and presenting the empty can at the gate.
Early entry for the Pit Party starts at 4 p.m. and spectator gates open at 5. The Circle K Pre-Race Pit Party concludes at 6:30 p.m. with on-track activities starting at 7:30.
If purchased in advance, reserved seats for the Aug. 18 Circle K Monster Truck Bash are $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under.
Adult seats are $5 more the day of the event while parking for all events at The Dirt Track is free. Tickets can be purchased online at www.charlottemotorspeedway.com or by calling the Lowe's Motor Speedway ticket office at 1-800-455-FANS.
