Speedway Children's Charities is giving area residents the opportunity to help children while also getting a sneak peek at the city's newest retailer.

On Tuesday, Aug. 14, Speedway Children's Charities and Stein Mart will host a ticketed pre-grand opening of Stein Mart's new store at 6130 Bayfield Parkway in the Afton Ridge Shopping Center.

The event, which takes place two days before the store opens to the public, runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will benefit Speedway Children's Charities'

grant program. Those who purchase a ticket will have the opportunity to shop in a fun atmosphere while also enjoying hors d'oeuvres. There will be numerous chances to win a variety of door prizes and each attendee will receive a special gift.

"We're thrilled to partner with Speedway Children's Charities on this fundraising event," said Julia Taylor, Stein Mart boutique director. "The work these charities do to improve the quality of life for children in need is remarkable, and so very needed. We applaud their contributions to the community."

Tickets for the pre-grand opening are $15 each and can be ordered by calling Amanda Hollingsworth at (704) 532-3318. Tickets are also available at the Lowe's Motor Speedway ticket office and at the Speedway Children's Charities Charlotte Chapter office on the second floor of Town & Country Ford. They can also be purchased at the door on the night of the event.
