Michelle Siderius, promoter of Montana Raceway Park in Kalispell, Mont., will be honored as the Lowe's Motor Speedway Promoter of the Year during pre-race festivities for the Dollar General 300 NASCAR Busch Series race Friday night, Oct. 12, at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

Located just south of Glacier National Park in Montana's picturesque Flathead Valley, Montana Raceway Park is the only paved quarter-mile oval in the Treasure State. This season, Siderius and her staff presented a schedule that combined a wide variety of weekly racing divisions along with numerous special events.

The track's marquee race, the Coors Light Montana 200, features super late models and is annually the state's largest motorsports event.

Another season highlight is Legend Thunder, a regional qualifying race that attracts Legends Car and Thunder Roadster competitors from across the United States and Canada.

"Siderius and her team have done an outstanding job of assembling a strong base of competitors and fans in an area much better known for its majestic scenery than for its auto racing," said H.A. "Humpy" Wheeler, president and general manager of Lowe's Motor Speedway. "She works extremely hard to promote an atmosphere that makes Montana Raceway Park a regional destination for family entertainment."

Siderius' parents, John and Sharon Slack, built Montana Raceway Park in 1991 and sold the facility to their daughters and son-in-law-Siderius and Marie and Aaron AuClaire-in 2004. Having been a family business since the first race, Siderius and her partners continue to focus on events and activities that create a family atmosphere for fans and competitors.

"This community has embraced what we do and we are very blessed to be in a place so welcoming," Siderius said. "It doesn't matter who you are, when you walk through the front gate we are all one big racing family."

Former recipients of the Lowe's Motor Speedway Promoter of the Year Award include Earl Baltes, Ralph Capitani, Ned Jarrett, Bill Donoho, Dick and Bob Bahre, Charles PoweII, Mickey Swims, Todd Fisher, Frank Plessinger and Tom Curley.

Tickets for the Dollar General 300 on Friday night, Oct. 12, start at just $17 and can be purchased online or by calling 1-800-455-FANS.
