Stars from the hit show "American Idol" are revving up for their biggest live performance to date - singing in front of roughly 200,000 NASCAR fans attending this weekend's Coca-Cola 600 and millions of television viewers watching at home.

The Coca-Cola Company today announced that seven finalists from "American Idol" will be on hand to perform the national anthem during pre-race ceremonies for the Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday, May 25 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C.

Performers will include Charlie Grigsby, Oberlin, Ohio; Kimberly Locke, Nashville, Tenn.; Carmen Rasmusen, Bountiful, Utah; Julia DeMato, Brookfield, Conn.; Trenyce, Memphis, Tenn.; Kimberly Caldwell, Katy, Texas; and Rickey Smith, Keene, Texas.

"Sports and music are two of America's strongest passions and we are excited to bring them together for a special Coca-Cola 600 tribute on Memorial Day weekend," said Jeff Herbert, senior vice president and general manager, Coca-Cola Trademark.

Television coverage of this year's Coca-Cola 600 is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m. EDT on FOX. Coca-Cola classic is the Official Soft Drink of NASCAR and the sponsor of the Coca-Cola 600. Through its association with tracks and race teams, The Coca-Cola Company and its bottling partners have been involved in NASCAR for more than 30 years. The Company sponsored cars from 1969-76 and 1990-94 under the Coca-Cola and Mello Yello brands, respectively.
