Employees of Kannapolis-based Pillowtex Corp. and their immediate families will be admitted free to round eight of Lowe¿s Motor Speedway¿s Summer Shootout Series Tuesday night, July 29.

¿With the company¿s future uncertain, the last few weeks have been pretty tough on Pillowtex employees and their families,¿ said H.A. ¿Humpy¿ Wheeler, president and general manager of Lowe¿s Motor Speedway. ¿We invite them to come to the speedway Tuesday night and enjoy an evening of motorsports entertainment.¿

Pillowtex, a leading producer of towels, sheets, rugs, blankets, pillows, mattress pads, feather beds, comforters and decorative bedroom and bath accessories, employs more than 3,800 workers in the area surrounding the speedway.

Presenting a Pillowtex employee identification badge at either Gate 4 or 5 will gain admission for two adults and any accompanying children to Tuesday night¿s event.

A full slate of Legends Car, Bandolero and Thunder Roadster racing is on tap with more than 160 cars expected to fill the pit area.

One-on-One Spectator Races, where fans race their personal street cars in a series of single-elimination races, are also on the schedule along with giveaways and the Domino¿s Pizza Ball Toss.
