Automotive enthusiasts will have the opportunity to drive their personal street cars on the serpentine 2.52-mile road course at Lowe¿s Motor Speedway Saturday and Sunday when the National Auto Sport Association hosts Hyperfest.

The unique two-day event combines NASA¿s popular professional Honda Challenge and American Iron road racing series and Hyperdrive High Performance Driving Event with a car show and the HCI Magazine Drift Nationals presented by Falken Tire.

¿The Hyperfest creates an automotive amusement park,¿ said event organizer Chris Cobetto. ¿Every person can be both a spectator and a participant. When they aren¿t watching the pros race, fans can take their street car on the road course and drive full throttle during the Hyperdrive High Performance Driving Event for only $40.¿

The slate of activities also includes a car show, professional disk jockeys and the opportunity to take high speed rides with certified instructors.

Car show registration starts at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday with gates opening to the public at 8 a.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. on Sunday.

Tickets are $15 and include access to the infield paddock. Call (804) 275-8399 or visit www.hyper-fest.com for information.
