After waiting a full year, dirt late model racing legend Mike Duvall will be inducted into The Dirt Track Walk of Fame prior to the Golden Corral Dirt Late Model Championship Saturday night, Sept. 13, at The Dirt Track @ Lowe¿s Motor Speedway.

Duvall was selected to join The Dirt Track Walk of Fame last year, but his induction was delayed when rain associated with tropical storm Hanna forced officials to cancel the 2002 edition of Golden Corral Dirt Late Model Championship.

Known to racing fans across the country as ¿The Flintstone Flyer,¿ Duvall has recorded more than 700 feature victories during a stock car driving career that began 35 years ago. A member of the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame, Duvall¿s résumé also includes the 1982 National Dirt Racing Association National Championship, a victory in the prestigious World 100 at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, and numerous triumphs in special events at his home track, Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, S.C.

Duvall will join 17-time World of Outlaws sprint car champion Steve Kinser, DIRT modified legend Bob McCreadie, longtime sprint car ace Sammy Swindell and the late AMA motorcycle star Will Davis in the Walk of Fame.

The Dirt Track Walk of Fame is patterned after a similar Court of Legends in front of Smith Tower at Lowe¿s Motor Speedway where such legendary motorsports figures as Richard Petty, David Pearson, Darrell Waltrip and Junior Johnson have been honored.

Sanctioned by the O¿Reilly Southern All Star Racing Series, the Golden Corral Dirt Late Model Championship will see the nation¿s top dirt late model racers battle in a full slate of action, culminating with a $10,000-to-win, 40-lap feature.

The Golden Corral Dirt Late Model Championship on Saturday night, Sept. 13, will run in conjunction with the Food Lion AutoFair at Lowe¿s Motor Speedway.

If purchased in advance, tickets are $18 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Adult tickets are $2 more the day of the event and parking at The Dirt Track is free.
