Conducted by the track¿s emergency services department, the two-day course teaches proper techniques for responding to motorsports emergencies. The course covers basic to advanced medical, fire and rescue scenarios involving a variety of racing vehicles ranging from go-karts to NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series stock cars.
Participants will receive hands-on training in fire control, medical scenarios and extrication from experienced rescue personnel, including members of Lowe¿s Motor Speedway¿s highly regarded safety crew.
The two-day course, which begins with registration at 9 a.m. Saturday, is free for all certified firefighters and emergency medical technicians. There is a $55 fee for all other participants.
