A new entry level street stock division, three nights of School Bus Racing and a drifting competition are among the highlights of the 11th annual Hardee¿s Summer Shootout which kicks off June 15 and runs each Tuesday night through Aug. 17 on the frontstretch quarter-mile oval at Lowe¿s Motor Speedway.

With tickets priced at just $5 for adults, $3 for children 6 to 12 and free for kids under 6, each of the 10 Tuesday night programs includes a full slate of RACEceiver Legends Car, Quaker Steak & Lube Thunder Roadster and Bandolero racing along with an entertaining special attraction.

The Road Hawgs, Lowe¿s Motor Speedway¿s new inexpensive division for stock production cars, will make four appearances during the 10-week series. The always radical School Bus Racing will be featured three times with two nights reserved for One-on-One Spectator Races where fans compete in a series of elimination races driving their own personal street cars.

Drifting, the nation¿s newest form of motorsports competition, makes its Lowe¿s Motor Speedway debut on Tuesday night, July 27. Drifting is a freestyle competition which showcases a driver¿s car control skills.

More than 200 race cars are expected to jam the pit area each Tuesday night as drivers from across the Southeast participate in Legends Car, Thunder Roadster and Bandolero competition.

Legends Car racing is divided into three categories based on a driver¿s experience. The Tom Johnson Camping Centers Pro division features veteran drivers while the Raceape.com Semi-Pro category is for those new to Legends Car competition. The Holiday Inn University Masters division is for drivers 40 years of age and older.

The Bandoleros are also divided into three divisions with competitors grouped by age. The TopChoice Bandits is for racers ages 8 to 11 with the Cabarrus Family Medical Young Guns featuring drivers ages 12 to 15. The Premise Termite Elimination Outlaws division is for drivers 16 years of age and older.
